THE WORD The Bible is more than just a collection of stories, parables, poems and letters. The Bible is the inspired written Word of God. THE WINDOW The Word of God is the window through which we see reality. There is a spiritual realm and God is a Spirit. Many people have difficulty wrapping their minds around the spiritual realm as it is intangible, can’t be seen, touched nor measured and not visible in the literal sense. The Word of God is the window which allows us access to see the spiritual realm and how it functions. It's the window to the Kingdom and reality; the window to heaven. The Word is a mirror that reflects exactly who we are. “Do not be forgetful hearers – A person that looks into the mirror and he turns around and forgets what he looks like.” (James 1:23) The Word of God, the Bible, acts as your mirror. Yet, in the world we live in, there are many things that influence how we see ourselves: the world itself, the environment in which we find ourselves, the perception we have of ourselves; even the mere fact that we look at ourselves. Satan has a way of keeping people busy, occupied and absorbed in their own doing. To focus on ourselves was never God’s intention for us. If your first priority is “sorting out yourself”, you will be kept busy and will not be able to do what God has sent you for. God sent us the solution. “Look away unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith.” (Heb 12:2) And it says, “First seek the Kingdom of God.” (Matt 6:33) This scripture refers to manifesting the Kingdom of God in this earth. It says first seek to manifest God in this earth and everything else that you need in your life will be added unto you. In its basic form, this is the Word, the window through which we see this realm for what it is, and how it functions, helping us to understand how to manifest it. The amazing thing is, not only does the Word show us what reality looks like, but everything that the Word shows us, it is able to manifest in this earth. The ability is in the Word. To realize, to materialize, to establish, to manifest everything in the physical that exists in the spiritual. When there is reference to the Word of God, it is not referencing it as theory. It is not merely a book on your bedside table, nor just written words found in the Bible. The Word is so much more than that. Before turning to Christ, we lived by the world’s standards. Now we accept the Word of God as the final authority for what we believe and how we live. The Word of God is our key to spiritual growth. It is also how we know God’s will for our lives.
