THE HOLY SPIRIT Jesus started His ministry at the age of 30 and it lasted for only 3 years. His ministry started the day He received the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, referring to Himself, that the Son of man could do nothing except what the Father showed Him. (John 5:19) How exactly did the Father show Him? What stands out about Jesus, the man in the Word of God, is His relationship with God. He had the Holy Spirit inside Him and through the Holy Spirit He had a relationship with the Father. So therefore, if Jesus tells us that He could do nothing except what the Father showed Him, through the Holy Spirit, why would we even think of doing things differently? Even though the disciples walked with Jesus for so long, Jesus told them not to try to achieve that he had asked them, without the Holy Spirit, as it was not possible to achieve and succeed. (Luke 24:49) What we need to achieve in this earth is impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit. Jesus made this very clear. Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power (dynamis) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The word used for power is the word dynamis, which is the ‘power to affect change’. It is the same word that dynamite, and dynamo is derived from. The Holy Spirit, inside you, is the love of God. The Holy Spirit is the one who brings us the presence of the Father. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you receive the love of God, as God is love and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth and reality. God wants you to experience that love in so many ways. Therefore, if we have the Holy Spirit inside us, our lives should look different to those around us. The function of the Holy Spirit is to manifest the Kingdom of God, all of who God is, on earth. For this, He needs the help of a human being. We all need a relationship with the Holy Spirit. It is intimate, sensitive, subtle, and gentle. The Holy Spirit is a person. He is the One who shows us the character of God, who guides us and who teaches us the Word of God. You will never walk in the wilderness of life anymore, because there will be light all the time. Jesus said, “He that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but he shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). Would you like to receive the Holy Spirit and pursue a relationship with God? Thank you, Father, that You do not leave me alone, but You sent Your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit come and fill me, come and fill my heart, come and fill my mind and come and fill my body.
