COMMUNION Communion is the commemoration and bringing into remembrance the sacrifice Jesus was for us, and the oneness that we could attain because of it. This sacrifice was required to allow Jesus to pay the price for all sin. When we become born again and accept Jesus as our Saviour, it is though we were in Him during His crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection. The price He paid is fully transferred to us. We are regenerated in a new life with no sin, having been cleansed by His blood. We have become the personification of the righteousness of the Father, through our new nature. When you become born again, you become one with the Lord and a participant in His body and blood, a sharer of His life. Therefore, by partaking in communion, we re-affirm our oneness with the Lord, and we remind ourselves of our true identity. We are one with the Lord and this means – His victory is our victory. As we partake in communion, we remind ourselves of our oneness with Him, oneness in His victory, and seated in Him at the right hand of the Father. The bread is symbolic of His Body and the Word of God, our true nourishment; and the wine (or juice), of His blood and the life form of the Holy Spirit that now lives inside us. Dear Father, we are so grateful to partake in the communion and remembrance of our oneness with You and remembering what the blood and the body of Your Son, Jesus Christ made possible. By partaking, I emphasize my victory over the world, its elements and over satan. Through the death of Christ on the cross, I have eternal victory and dominion over sin, sickness, disease, death and the devil, in Jesus name. Amen Romans 5:17-19 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.
